This Friday, the 22nd of February, the CenTex Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) hosts its Annual General Membership Meeting and Spring Semester Mentoring Mixer for Public Affairs/Administration students from area graduate schools. NATIONAL CONFERENCE 23-26 MARCH IN PHOENIX 63rd ASPA National Conference "Public Service -- Public Trust", in Phoenix, Arizona. CenTex Chapter members Steven Morgan and Bill Billingsley will be receiving major national awards, and CenTex Chapter members Ken Matwiczak and Reuben Leslie will be making presentations. There'll be lots more Texans and former Texans at the conference too. The Texas MPA/Aff schools with booths will this year include the LBJ School! PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK OBSERVANCES BEING PLANNED Public Service Recognition Week 2002 will be the 6th-10th of May! President Bush and Governor Perry have issued proclamations in the past and are expected to again this year. ASPA chapters nationwide are sponsoring events (see http://www.aspanet.org), and many public spirited organizations are as well, with from Public Employees Roundtable, a cooperative effort of many national organizations, including ASPA (see http://www.theroundtable.org). The CenTex Chapter of ASPA will be observing this week again (see news about prior award winners at http://www.main.org/aspa) with its annual public service awards banquet on the 9th of May.
