The website of the CenTex Chapter of the American Society for Public
Administration at  http://www.main.org/aspa has been updated (at long
last!).   Server access (for revisions) was interrupted for several weeks
while our free service provider, the Metropolitan Austin Interactive Network
(MAIN at http://www.main.org), stepped up planned upgrades and access code
reissuing to prevent vandalism.   This notice is intended as a service to
members.  If you do not wish to receive similar notices in the future,
please so indicate via e-mail to CenTex ASPA Webmaster at rlsd@io.com.

Highlights:

* "President's Corner" column by new President, Doyle Pendleton (click on
his name on the front page and see our website's first online photo aside
from the Capitol).

* E-mail addresses and phone numbers for officers and council, including
those elected January 28 at http://www.main.org/aspa/officers.htm.

* Announcement and call for nominations for CenTex ASPA's annual public
service awards:  Public Administrator of the Year (2 categories), James W.
McGrew Public Policy Research Award (2 categories) and Public Administrator
of the Year.   Nominations are due 7 April.  Form is online at
http://www.main.org/aspa/awards00.htm, and awards will be presented on 5 May
in Austin during Public Service Recognition Week.  "Announcements and
Activities" page also includes a link to Public Employees Roundtable, source
for free PSRW celebration supplies (if you order by 19 April) and a public
service scholarship contest (applications due 19 May).

* Other items featured on the Announcements page at

conference in San Diego 1-4 April (CenTex will be honored for its
outstanding program, several CenTex members are planning to attend and/or
present, and it's not too late to register!);  a link to the Council of
State Governments award nominations forms (due 31 March); and a link to the
program and registration site of a major performance measurement conference
in Austin April 25-29.  The announcement page is designed to be printed and
posted where ASPA members and prospects gather.  You can also copy/paste and
e-mail it or this notice to a friend who might like to know more about
CenTex ASPA activities.

the Austin Chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement.
