CenTex Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration updates

Highlights:

*  IMPORTANT MEETING.  A Special CenTex ASPA Luncheon Program on "The State
of Career State Employment -- Employee Turnover, Employee Benefits, Threats
& Opportunities"  will be at 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM at Texas State Capitol
Annex, West Dining Area of Cafeteria on Level E1. Speakers will be Sheila
Beckett, Executive Director of the Employee Retirement System of Texas on
employee benefits; Matthew Levitt with the Texas State Auditor's Office on
State Employee Turnover report. Cost: $15 (includes full buffet, tax, and
tip). For reservations by 19 July, contact Bill Billingsley, CenTex ASPA

PUBLISH, PRESENT, AND BE PART OF A NATIONAL ASPA CONFERENCE!  August 15 is
the deadline for individual paper and presentation proposals for the ASPA
National Conference "NEW CENTURY * NEW CITIES * NEW CHALLENGES", scheduled
for 9-13 March 2001, in Newark, New Jersey. Panel proposals were due 1 July
and are under consideration. See announcement in PA Times and online at

James W. McGrew Award Winners whose papers are accepted for presentation at
the national conference.
